After spending 13 years mastering the craft alongside some of New Zealand’s—and the world’s—most skilled sailmakers, I founded NZ Sails in 2016 with a clear vision: to deliver sails of unmatched quality, proudly made right here in New Zealand. Throughout my career, I’ve been involved in incredible projects, including the Volvo Ocean Race and other premier yachting events worldwide. These experiences taught me that exceptional sails are about more than just materials—they require precision, passion, and expert craftsmanship at every stage. Along the way, I gained valuable insights into advanced manufacturing systems used by larger operations and learned how to adapt these efficient processes to a small, boutique setting. This allows NZ Sails to maintain the highest standards of quality and productivity without losing the personal attention and flexibility that only a local business can offer. We’re deeply committed to keeping manufacturing local. Producing our sails here in New Zealand means we can work closely with clients, respond quickly to their needs, and support our local economy and skilled tradespeople.
